Long day…
So, woke up and went to work today.
Day six of eleven.
*sigh*
So, I went to work. I thought I might be able to get off early. Not so much. One girl called in sick and couldn’t be completely replaced. And the person I asked to relieve me couldn’t stay.
So I worked all day.
Then dinner with Kate. Pizza Hut stuffed crust. Yum.
Boy did I eat too much, though. Icky tummy.
Then, off to Acton (no, it’s not worth the drive!) for a union strike vote.
The company is offering shit, so we voted for strike.
This does NOT mean we’re going on strike!
It’s just a way to get them back to the table. Hopefully more reasonably.

Still sick.
*sigh*
Coughing until I choke, on occasion.
Stupid high blood pressure makes taking medication ridiculously difficult.
I’ve been sick most of the fall. Unbelievable. I NEVER get sick. It’s like this is my punishment for not getting sick often.
Hopefully I get better soon. If I don’t, I guess it’s back to the doctor for me.
*sigh*
I’d better be better by the weekend, since I’m supposed to cook a turkey for my family on Saturday…
***
So, for this turkey dinner, I’m thinking of changing it up.
I found a recipe for an apple cider glazed turkey. It sounds yummy, so I’m thinking of going that route.
Unless my brother will freak out.
He’s the one I have to convince. lol
I always thought *I* was the stickler for tradition. Turns out it’s my brother.
I’m going to try for compromise. I’ll still make the Cauliflower Cheese Puff and a veggie of his choice. But that means that the turkey will be unstuffed and seasoned as I like.
Sound reasonable?
I think so.
I’m planning a much lighter (work-wise) dinner than the one I’ll do at Christmas. Only one pie. I may or may not make fresh bread/rolls. Depends on energy level.
I’m going to make a Graham Cracker Pie. It was my grandfather’s favourite. I think the family can agree on it.
Maybe not Jen, but that might be because she hasn’t had it yet.
It’s yummy.
Cranberry sauce is a must. Dad’ll get the remainder for his ice cream, I’m sure. Potatoes. Maybe broccoli. Brussel sprouts are the plan. I have a couple of recipes that look interesting. Some of them involve bacon.
What do you think? Sound good?

Ok, pizza hut and graham cracker pie?? YUM!
Sorry you are still sick. Boo! I hope you feel better soon. I’m in for a long week here too, so I hear you. Blah.
